Strength and meaning

I finished reading The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros. While reading i wrote some quotes that reflected on resolution.
"They will not know i have gone away to come back. For the ones i left behind. For the ones who cannot out." Esperanza decides that she wants to leave mango street. But she still wants to come back and visit. This really reflects on resolution and childhood. When you are a child your lost and do not know where you belong. When you grow up you find your true meaning g in life. Sometimes to find your true meaning in life you need to go some where else and explore life. Esperanza found her true meaning when she decided that she needed to leave mango street. There are other people just like Esperanza trying to find there way in life, and when they find it cannot escape. So, Esperanza makes sure that when she leaves she will return for those people and her family. This Quote relates to everyone because i am sure that all of us feel like we are out of place sometimes.
"i am too strong for her to keep me here forever. One day i will go away." In this quote Esperanza again talks about leaving mango street. How mango street wants her to stay but she has already made up her mind. When Esperanza and everyone in general is young they are weak, their mind set is week. But when you grow older it's different. You experience things that make you question life and make you stronger. Esperanza witnessed a lot of scary things and went through  a lot of experiences that shaped the person she is today. And with all  she went through came the strength she gained to leave mango street.
In conclusion, resolution is something we all go through. Through resolution we figure out who we are and we gain strength we never had. Everybody goes through resolution to make them the person they are today.

Crank for Middle School?

I finished reading Crank by Ellen Hopkins. I thought it was an excellent book. While reading the book my teacher asked me a question, do you think this book is appropriate for middle school students? I have formed an conclusion, yes.
I think that this book is in fact appropriate for middle school students. I don't see the bad in it, it actually shows you all the horrific things that come of crank. So it's making you aware of the consequences that come from crank. Kristina ruined her whole life. She ruined her family relationship, the people in her family and her academics. This all went down hill because of crank. This book opens your eyes to things that are out in the world that sometimes we are not aware of. When you read this book you say "wow, i am never ever going to try crank."Crank makes you do things you would never dream of doing. Due to drugs Kristina cursed at her mother, lowered her school grades, skipped classes, got pregnant, and hurt her family. When you look at all of this you know that this book tells you never do this drug unless you want to end up like Kristina. So yes this book in my opinion is appropriate for middle school students.
In conclusion, i think that this book is appropriate for middle school students. It does not encourage anything. It shows that path you life goes if you try crank. I think it would actually be good for middle school students top read this so that they never make the mistake of doing drugs ever in their life. After all you only live once, why would you take that away with a drug?
