The Capitol

In the book The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins the capitol (Panem) is unfair. They don't care about anyone but theme selves.
One reason i think that they only care about theme selves is because of the hunger games. They made that up just so they can keep the districts in order. They let innocent people die every year. They really couldn't care less. Because if they did  this wouldn't be happening. Kids as young as 12 wouldn't be in the hunger games fighting for their life that eventually would be taken from them. It's a cruel way to keep the districts in order i don't think it's fair. There must be another way, instead of taking 24 kids and making them fight for their life. Every year 23 kids die and only one gets the chance to claim victory in a cruel way, by murdering each other. This can't be the only way, this is a cruel and disgusting thing to do.
Another reason i think that the capitol only cares about them selves is because they treat others as if they were nothing. For example, "What's an Avox?" i ask stupidly." Someone who committed a crime. They cut her tongue so she can't speak,"says Haymitch. "And even if you did, you're not to speak to one of them unless it's to give an order."says Effie. When i first read these lines i was shocked. They treat these people horribly as if they weren't even human beings. They cut out there tongue because they committed a crime. They are not supposed to speak just do  orders for others. No one should be treated like that. The capitol doesn't really care about someone else's life but they do care about themeselves. They really don't car that someones tongue is being cut out because after all, it's just there servant and nothing more.
In conclusion the capitol only cares about them selves. They don't care about the lives taken or about the humanity stripped from the servants, all that matters is them.

  1. I agree with you because the Capitol is seeing 23 humans die a year. It is almost fun seeing them die in their prospective. Why should people die when it is not necessary? Even then the districts are not uniting; there is still war between them. There is still war because people would have to kill each other in order. This is unfair, and I feel that they are being ruled by a dictator, instead of a rational government.

  2. I think that the Hunger Games is not just a way for the Capitol to show its superiority over the Districts, but to test them as well. Of course it was to show who the boss was, but also how long the Districts could take these sacrifices (1701 people have died all together). Apparently it took 74 years for people to stand up for what is right.

  3. I completely agree with you. The Capitol finds the Hunger Games entertaining! Every year, just from the Hunger Games, twenty three people die. They ENJOY watching this happen. They place bets on who will win and who's life will be taken away. Because they know that they don't have to participate in the Hunger Games, they consider it an "honor" because they are serving Panem. As I learned later on, one year they had even MORE tributes. They had twice the people in the arena. The people of the Capitol are very selfish.
